The Ciena NTK552JA is a Single Line Raman Amplifier (SRA) circuit pack for the Ciena 6500 Packet-Optical Platform (OME 6500). Designed for the photonic layer, it applies distributed Raman gain to the incoming Line A fiber, improving optical signal-to-noise ratio and extending span reach on metro, regional, and long-haul DWDM networks.

The NTK552JA also integrates an Optical Service Channel (OSC) with a 1x SFP 10/100 Base-T port and built-in OTDR capability, so operators get amplification, network supervisory communications, and fiber diagnostics from a single slot. That makes it a strong fit for long or high-loss spans, Optical Line Amplifier (OLA) sites, and networks carrying 10G, 40G, 100G, and higher coherent wavelengths.
