The Ciena NTK538BK (HECI/CLEI: WOTRDNRFAA) is a 100G Multi-Output Transport Regenerator (MOTR) circuit pack for the Ciena 6500 Packet-Optical Platform (OME 6500). Specifically, it pairs Ciena’s WaveLogic 3 nano (WL3n) coherent technology with ten SFP+ client ports and, as a result, combines multiple 10G services onto one 100G C-Band DWDM wavelength.

In addition, this all-in-one design integrates client aggregation and coherent line optics on a single card. Consequently, operators save shelf slots, reduce power draw, and simplify 10G-to-100G migration. Moreover, the Enhanced variant offers greater optical reach than the Basic model (NTK538BM), which makes it well suited to metro and regional networks with longer spans.

For these reasons, the NTK538BK is a strong fit for aggregating 10GbE and OTU2 services, upgrading existing 6500 networks to 100G, and stocking spares for deployed WL3n MOTR fleets.
